About
WHO ARE WE? E-Senior Services, LLC, was created in 2007 in Flower Mound, Texas, to help individuals educate themselves, and their families and care givers, regarding issues of importance to aging adults. The founder and President of E-Senior Services, DeLila Bergan, J.D., M.A., served as an elder law attorney for many years and, in doing so, assisted numerous individuals and families in planning for their futures and in dealing with serious physical illnesses or injuries, the onset of Alzheimer's disease or other dementias and traumatic brain injuries. Ms. Bergan is also a medical ethicist with special interests in heath care policy and in medical and legal issues related to the care of older adults. She serves as a care giver herself and understands the challenges families and care givers face. She recognizes that care givers are frequently pulled in a number of directions simultaneously by the needs of spouses, parents and children and the demands of careers, are often working in crisis mode, and never seem to have enough time in the day to get to the end of their "to do" lists.
OUR PURPOSE: E-Senior Services is trying to make things a little easier. Older adults, family care givers, and the professionals who serve them all need information on topics of importance to aging adults, whether related to housing options for healthy adults, in-home services for individuals who might want a little assistance, residences that offer health care at varying levels, respite care, specialized legal or medical services for older adults, financial issues, government benefits, support agencies, convenience services, funeral services, etc. Our web site provides basic information regarding many of these topics and also contains helpful directories of providers of related services or products. E-Senior Services has attempted to organize as much information as possible in one spot to make it simpler for older adults and those who care for them to quickly find needed information and services or products. To help when you're on the run, our web site information can also be accessed quickly in a mobile web format from cell phones or other handheld devices with internet access.
WE'RE STILL GROWING: Our web site debuted in late-November 2007. Please bear with us and check back often. We are still building portions of the site and are adding new information weekly.
WHY A WEB SITE? We recognize that some older adults do not use the internet, but seniors are searching the web in increasing numbers and their children or grandchildren generally have internet access. Many individuals can use computers at their churches, local libraries, senior centers or senior residence buildings. Placing our information on a web site, instead of in a printed book, allows us to add new information weekly, to correct address or phone information for providers promptly and to reach a greater number of people quickly.
READ OUR NEWSLETTER: From our home page, visitors to our site can also access the timely articles in our monthly newsletter. We will address local issues and tell you about new services and products. Please bookmark our site and come back often as the newsletter is updated frequently.
EDUCATION: In addition to our web site and newsletter, E-Senior Services will begin offering community and professional education in 2008.
REMEMBER WE'RE IN TEXAS: This web site contains provider information for the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas (USA), metroplex and surrounding areas. Much of the educational information on the site pertains to Texas, but may be helpful in a general sense throughout the U.S. (although you should investigate state-to-state differences, especially on government or legal topics) and some of our listed providers are national and international companies. (Please also read our Disclosure, Disclaimers and Warnings section on our home page.) If you are interested in bringing E-Senior Services to your area, please contact us regarding licensing information.
THANK YOU for visiting our site. We hope it has been helpful to you.
